Christian Life and Education in Community: a Benedictine Option (Presented in Spanish)
The Catholic school must be a community whose aim is the transmission of values for living. Its work is seen as promoting a faith-relationship with Christ in Whom all values find fulfilment. But faith is principally assimilated through contact with people whose daily life bears witness to it. Christian faith, in fact, is born and grows inside a community. Cenobites, that is to say, those who belong to a monastery, where they serve under a rule and an abbot… With the help of the Lord, let us proceed to draw up a plan for the strong kind, the cenobites (RB 1)
To discover the identity of each community we need to be able to ask and respond to the questions:
Ø What is an educative community?
Ø How do we promote identity and belonging in our community?
